the a(m)byss: A Blank Page, A New Beginning
Today I Started A New Tradition . . . At approximately 4:20am I read the last page of Victoria Christopher Murray’s rapturous novel, Harlem Rhapsody (2025) . I read it down to its studs, savoring each word of dedication and acknowledgement at book’s end. I initially mourned the blank pages that followed. It felt apocalyptic. Like the end of a world. But what began as grief soon made way for inspiration. Because blank pages are also new beginnings. I found poetry in ending
